ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello my name is Jeffery Day and I would like to personally welcome you to my web site. Also I would like to take the opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in the Batesburg-Leesville area of SC where I graduated high school in 1976. Through my family I learned tremendous respect for the outdoors and I fell in love with the beaches and marshes of South Carolina.

A self-taught artist, I have been drawing and painting much of my life. In 1983 I studied with national artist Milton Lenoir of Alabama. About 1987 fine artist Danny ODriscoll critiqued my artwork and with his encouragement I started painting professionally.

My studio is located in the midlands of South Carolina and I have been creating and publishing low country artwork since 1989. I enjoy creating paintings of my native South Carolina, to depict the beauty and tranquility of the low country and other subjects of interest. My art is realistic, and this gives the impression of a photograph, but it's all hand-painted with acrylic or oil paint.

I attend many art shows and regional festivals through out the southeast and my original paintings hang in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
