ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hello, and welcome to my web site. My name is Jeffery Day. I was born and raised in the Batesburg-Leesville area of South Carolina. During my childhood, thanks to my family, I developed a tremendous respect for the outdoors and I fell in love with the coastal region (low country) of South Carolina.
A self-taught artist, I have been drawing and painting for most of my life. In 1983 I studied with internationally known artist Milton Lenoir of Alabama. Five years later wildlife artist Danny O'Driscoll reviewed my artwork and with his encouragement I started painting professionally.
My studio is located in the midlands of South Carolina where I have been creating and publishing lowcountry artwork since 1989. I enjoy creating paintings of my native South Carolina, depicting the unique beauty and tranquility of the lowcountry. I specialize in lighthouses, beaches, marshes and wildlife. My paintings are very realistic; although they may give the impression of a photograph, they are all hand-painted on fine linen.
My original paintings hang in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. I attend many art shows and regional festivals throughout the Southeast. If you would like to know where you can see my work in person, please contact me by clicking here.
Enjoy!
